USHA International, one of India’s leading consumer durables company, is the first company to promote Ultimate in India. Taking forward this strong commitment, USHA announced the ‘USHA HydHAT 2016’ in association with UPAI (Ultimate Players Association of India) starting December 10, 2016.

Team ‘Ice-Cream’ emerged victorious and beat Team ‘Spicy Fanta Tango’ in the finals to lift the Usha HydHAT 2016 Trophy. Team ‘Yellow Riders’ won the Spirit of the Game award.

USHA HydHAT 2016 was a two day tournament slated between December 10 & 11, 2016 and took place at Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad. A total of 120 participants from 8 cities participated in the tournament.

Speaking about the event, Ms. Komal Mehra, Events Head, Usha International said, “Ultimate is growing exponentially in India and this year we had a vision for HydHAT as ‘Learn and Grow’. In alignment to that we coached students from Teach for India and Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad and 20 students from these organisations participated with us. Teach for India is a non-profit organization striving to end the problem of educational inequality in India and provide an excellent education to all the children. Usha has been continuously supporting the coaching of kids and helping them to become better individuals by developing certain qualities such as patience, efficient interaction skills and handling pressure.”

USP of HydHAT’16 was the people participating in the HAT. In HAT tournaments, players join individually and then teams are formed by randomly taking names of the participants from a hat. There are people coming from different economic, social backgrounds, different age group, different gender but the ultimate objective they are looking for is to learn, grow and most importantly have fun.

Earlier this year, Usha brought Ultimate Open to Ahmedabad, Mumbai (Gheun Tak), Bangalore and Surat. The tournaments witnessed huge participation from different parts of the country, helping Ultimate in gaining huge popularity in India. Recently, India sent 4 teams to compete at the World’s Ultimate and Guts Championship (WUGC) 2016 in different categories – Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed and Masters. USHA has always been supportive of numerous sporting initiatives in the country like Marathon, Cricket, Ladies and Junior Golf, Football etc. New age appliances from the company, like Infiniti Cook Halogen Oven, on the go blenders, cold pressed Juicers, air coolers with ionizers also represent USHA’s commitment to promote a fun, active and healthy lifestyle.
