VLCC Institute of Beauty & Nutrition, Asia’s leading chain of Beauty and Nutrition Academies, today held its 16th Annual Convocation in New Delhi. Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Honorable Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship presided over the function as Chief of Guest and Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament and Delhi Pradesh BJP President was the Guest of Honor. Shri Kapil Dev, Padma Bhushan Awardee and former Captain of the Indian Cricket team and Shri Manish Kumar, MD& CEO, National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) also graced the occasion as Special Guests.
Of the nearly 20,000 students who passed out from the VLCC Institute’s 79 campuses across 54 cities in India, 430 students hailing from various parts of India were awarded their certificates today by Mrs. Vandana Luthra, Founder VLCC.
VLCC also signed a Partnership Agreement with NSDC, on the sidelines of the event. VLCC will be working with NSDC on organized training and certifications, employment and entrepreneurship. Additionally, students completing various beauty and nutrition courses from VLCC Institute will receive joint certification from VLCC and NSDC, with the course completion certificate also bearing the Skills India seal. This association will also help fast track the loan process for students as nationalized banks prefer extending study loans to students enrolled in NSDC Partner’s skill development institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Vandana Luthra, Founder, VLCC said, “I would like to congratulate the students who have received their certificates today and wish them the very best for the future. I am confident that they will do well in their respective careers and also act as ambassadors-at-large of a confident, young and skilled India. VLCC is the largest supplier of manpower to the wellness industry and has tie-ups with more than 100 leading employers across the country. We are planning to introduce 10 new courses, including a degree program with a leading International University. We are also planning to launch more international certifications and will be setting up new institutes in Middle East and Dubai. We will continue to work closely with several centre and state initiatives in Skill India movement that would provide livelihood through skill based training.”
Mrs. Luthra added “The partnership with NSDC is a testimony of the fact that VLCC has a proven track record of working extensively in the areas of skill development with a range of partners across the government, donor and civil society. This tie-up will help in creation of skilled beauty practitioners and entrepreneurs from the underprivileged youth. We are confident that together with NSDC, we will be able to build a better India of tomorrow by empowering the weaker sections, especially women.”
Speaking on the partnership with VLCC, Mr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said “VLCC is a pioneer in the beauty and wellness industry and has also been the flag bearer of skill development amongst women and underprivileged, willing to get employment in the beauty industry.
